Many users do not have the facilities or the in-house skills to host a successful Moodle site. Even if you do, you may simply wish to get on with your teaching and leave someone else to worry about the technicalities. General purpose hosting companies can provide hosting facilties for Moodle but are unlikely to optimise their servers for Moodle's needs, therefore resulting in poor performance. At CourseHosting.net we are Moodle specialists and believe in using only servers which are fit for purpose. We use servers specifically set up and tuned for Moodle use. Even if you choose a package where you will be sharing the server with other users, we carefully monitor the performance to ensure that each user receives the level of performance that they expect. We can provide solutions for small situations with a couple of courses and a handful of students up to a requirement for many thousands of users and courses distributed over multiple servers for maximum performance reliability. You can choose to use our hosting provision or, if you prefer, we can provide whatever assistance you need to install suitable hardware within your own IT service. |
